Stem cell research

do you think stem cell research is a good think? Is it helping to understand how humans work and advancing our medical technology? if you dont think so, what are some good alternatives to this? i believe that it is a good thing...the more we understand ourselves the more we can diagnose health issues. Or is it too close to playing God?

I personally don't think that women are going to go hog crazy to "sell" embryos as some claim will happen, I'm sure if I had some of these dieases I would be all for it, heck I'dd get in line for experimentation. All a stem cell is is a basic cell that will turn into whatver if becomes programmed to be. since abortions will continue to happen like it or not, let them not be in vain and let something good happen from them
