I suppose it would depend on the type of person it was. If they were ignorant, and just didn't know any better, I'd try to explain to them why they were wrong, and how offensive that was. Otherwise I might ignore them if they were looking for a fight, or if I was in a cross mood anyway and felt like an argument, I'd probably argue back. I wouldn't use racism back at them, unless it was to illustrate the point that it's stupid and hurtful, because just responding in the same way would make me as bad as the racist.

I don't think of myself as any particular race very often, I am, but it doesnt really matter to me.So, when I hear something against my race, I'd probably think, yes well it applies to some but not toall. It's not overtly upsetting.

Hi! Actually, I have encountered one person in particular here on Mylot who is very racist and has called me just about every racial slur he/she can think of. I just feel sorry for him/her because I am proud to be who I am. Nothing anyone else says or does can change who I am or the fact that I have people in my life who love me for who I am, so what does it matter if someone thinks they have to insult me? I feel sorry for people who feel that they have to insult or belittle others to make themselves feel important.

First of all, no one can insult me because I won't let them. They can call me whatever they dam well please with one exception.....don't call me late for dinner. Insults directed at me go over like a lead baloon. I pay no attention to them. However, I do however I do tend to get my feathers ruffled if anyone insults members of my family who are not present to defend themselves.

I think, I would ignore that person. Because if he is racial then his thoughts are generally very determined and single track. There is no point in discussing about it because many people may have tried that already.
