Where were you for Chirstmas eve????

We had a busy Christmas Eve. Late afternoon we (my husband, kids and myself) visited at my cousin's open house for an hour and a half before we headed to the first Christmas service at 6pm. This mass was like our usual Saturday afternoon 5:00 mass as the one male singer performed with his guitar, except he had piano accompaniment. Near the end of mass he put his guitar and belted out the most magnificant rendition of 'O Holy Night'. I had to go over to him afterwards and tell him "Wow". After Mass we went home, changed into warmer clothes and went for a Christmas Walk in the Park. One of the parks in our town is all done up with lights and decorations every Christmas. It's a beautiful site to see. Then we came home and the girls (and my husband) went on a treasure hunt for their Christmas Eve box with 15 clues I wrote and hid around the house. They got their box and my 13yo flipped when she saw I bought "High School Musical" DVD. So we all had to watch it right away. After that, my 13yo and I returned to church for midnight mass because they had trouble getting altar servers for the late service so my daughter served at this high mass with full choir and lots and lots of incense. Not nearly as appealing to me as our 6pm mass. We came home and my daughter went to bed and hubby and I put out the gifts and stockings. Busy, busy night. My favourite part of Christmas.
