AIDS is Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome, terminal stage of the infection by HIV- Human ImmunoDeficiency Virus...this virus is transmitted by the infected body fluids like blood, s.emen, v.aginal fluid, etc...it is mainly caused by unsafe s.ex, sharing infected needles, transmission from mother to child etc...to avoid getting the infection, we ve to have safe s.ex with c.ondoms and other barrier protection methods or better avoid unsafe s.ex , and also we shouldn't use shared needles and a HIV woman shouldn't conceive...some things like that, for more information, just write what u want to know in the HIV topic of my discussions...

HIV positive women can conceive now and have HIV positive babies. If they are taking care of themselves one of several proceedures is followed including administering AZT via IV during delivery. The baby is born with HIV antibodies but will clear them out of his or her system in 6 months. 98% of babys born to HIV positive women using these methods are negative!
