i loved this film. i thought it was one of the most original, inspiring, absolutely genius films i've seen in a long time, maybe ever.
i honestly don't know how many times i've watched it. at least twenty on my own. more with others. hehe, like recruiting dreamers.
what are your thoughts?

This movie is such a great interpretation of the dream world, Linklater hit the nail right on the head, all the references to existentialism and just the rotoscope animation, it all ties in so beautifully. I'm real happy that I got IFC for a short period of time, in which i caught this movie and like the person above me, I went out and bought it the next day as well!, the extras on the DVD are phenomenal I might add.

Oh I have to agree with you on this! Why can't they make movies like this anymore? The skills from story writers to actors are just amazing.

I stumbled across this movie channel surfing one day, and ever since I have been hooked! I went out the next day and bought it. It is without a doubt my favorite movie. I love the conversations, the visual aspect of it, the actors in it, the music, it is all brilliant and it should have been more recognised for that. I too share this movie with anyone who will watch it. It is more like an expereince than a film. It funny that you say its like recruiting dreamers, because it always inspires the people who watch it with me, and makes for great conversation. I love to share it. Its a movie you cant forget and you want to watch it over and over again. It is a very deep and almost spiritual movie that really makes you wonder... is this all really just a dream?

I thought it was amazing. I've only seen it once, but definitely want to see it again, there's just too much information to process at once. There are some excellent websites out there the provide transcripts as well as further resources for many of the schools of thought represented in the film. Some of them echoed things I already believed or felt by am not articulate enough to have worded them in an easily understood medium, and others were eye opening new concepts for me.
