i guess it would depend on what type of poverty level your on..if your on a poverty level where you are just getting by,as long as y ou have what u need.but there are the very low pverty levels.,where ones children are starving ,suffering,freezing..if this was me..you bet your bum i would steal..i would steal for my child if theer was no other way aroubnd it..and honestly the world osnt getting muc better..but i can see how crime comes with poverty and it truley saddens my heart

Does poverty cause crime? Or does crime cause poverty? Some feel that poverty causes crime. Others though, feel that crime rates have nothing to do with poverty and that crime may actually cause poverty.
If poverty causes crime than why are crime rates lower in poor third world countries than in wealthy super powers? I think that it is not poverty that causes crime but the anti-poverty programs that cause crime. I feel that the United States has created its own crime problem because the U.S. pays people not to work or be married through the welfare program. In a sense people are being rewarded for doing nothing. That is what I think.

I do not think that poverty always leads to crime, but I do think that it increases the temptation to commit crimes, as well as the hoipelesness which will result in more violence.
