What is the best birthday gift for a girlfriend?

I need to gift something really special and romantic without being cheap or cliched. I have run out of ideas (and gifts!). Please help!

You can buy for her a book of love poems....nobody except you I guesscan buy her such a thing. If she is not close to literature, then you might consider getting her a piece of jewellry you can afford. Good luck :)
