AOE 2: Counter attacking mongols...

I am a die hard fan of mongols and I always use mongols only(if I am allowed to do so). I would like to know that how will you counter mongols with any other civilization so that I can improve my game more.

I will take any civilization especially huns as they have halbardiers.A lot of halbs and mongols are no where evenif given parthian research.As my economy is not affected by creating halbs I can then attack with more stronger units like castle units ,champions,cavalry archers..Also spies more easy for huns..half is needed only...I can see ur development then and prepare for that..

Well that was easy for u to say but in a 1 Vs 1 game mongols can develop easily i.e. gather food easily and then hav a very quick castle and then take on any one wid their knights...if a gud feudal is done wid mongols then they can be devastating...

You could try being Saracens. Its the best-counter-civilisation for mongols as far as I am concerned.

Mongols is cavalry civilisation so we need a anticavalry unit i.e. saracens will rock.A bunch of 30 saracens,5 monks,some halbs and 15 skirms will whipe out around 60 mongols.

Saracens are the best in lot. However,if there is a large amount of water,I would suggest using Spanish for navy invasions or using korea!! But in land,Saracens rule!!

well u have even a bit of water atleast enough to give access 4 5 to8 ships and u r spanish well then the game is shifted in ur favour and that too wery heavily. it is hard to loose

I played it before a year...so sorry ..i don't remember... Age of empires...one of my favorite game... It is my favorite game among the real time strategy of games..i played Age of empires 2 first...Then i played Age of mythology.. I also played the latest age of empires...it is a wonderful experience over the game play... We are waiting for the new one...

I would say try koreans because i think they are the best particularly in a team game where u can amass gold. Their seige onager is the best and can easily counter the mongolian siege. But beware of the unique unit which has attack bonus against siege weapons!
