is it time to make counterstrike 1.6 a freeware??

Countertrike has become a classic over years .. there are alot of multiplayer games around with much better visual appeal .. for example the counterstrike source .. its high time to make this classic a freeware like multiplayer games Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory, Fear Combat etc, so that it get more popularity than ever

well the game is being played as non steam(valve) versions everywhere.. and the only thing that its servers shld become free or more non steam servers shld come up ...

but this time things will be different i think. microsoft is preparing for this situation by tracing out people using pirated software when they access the net with it

The problem with making counterstrike freeware is that what some consider to be "little effert" on Valves part will become "no effert at all". Also, there will never be any updates to the security and anticheat system in place or to the game itself.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory isn't a 'full game' it was never meant to be just an online game, it was meant to be the sequeal to Wolfenstein which circumstances acted against and they decided to release the online section.
I've never got into Counter Strike, I'd like to give it a go naturally but I'm not buying it.

i dont think so .. its a full multiplayer game available for free download ..abt counterstrike it has become an old game so noone is ready to pay for a old game ... thats why im saying make it a freeware
