A successful businessman now, how?

Bill gates went for the future trend years back Micrsoft Windows,so as dell,Dell Computers,then we saw google founders do the same,Google Search engine... i m just analysing what should I or someone else would do, to be the next giant in cyberage for next decade or so.. My domain is computer science, my profession is software development,should i have to change my domain or to look for someone else ,thinking like me!
