Does stock Market Really follow Technical analysis?

I am in the stockmarket domain for the last 5 years and closely watching the movement of the stocks and tried to learn Technical Analysis of stocks and applied it on my portfolio But sometimes I got amazed that does it really work? is there any science behind it?
