It’s faster, more exciting and action packed. There’s something happening all the time. Not the same with cricket, though I admit it can produce some brilliant moments too.
A football match gets over in less than two hours, to be precise 90 minutes + a 15 minute break makes it exactly 1 hour and 45 minutes. Now compare that to cricket, 7-8 hours incase of an ODI (One Day International) and a maximum of 5 days for test matches. Can’t imagine myself sitting through a full cricket match.
Football is a simple game with simple rules. Can’t exactly say that about cricket. What the hell is the Duckworth Lewis Rule?!? Sounds more like a mathematical theory…haha
Football is a free-flowing game with few interruptions. Rarely do you see lengthy interruptions in football which on the other hand is pretty common for cricket matches.
Football is unaffected by rains, the game never stops. Now how often do we see rain interrupted cricket matches?
The atmosphere at a football game (international level) on an average is so much better than that at an international cricket match.
Football stadiums are so much better than cricket stadiums, holding more fans that make so much more noise.
The Football World Cup is so much more interesting than the cricket World Cup.
Basically football is a better and more interesting sport.
football is better because of its speed. but now cricket is coming up with 20-20 kinda of format. now i think both are same.

I am familiar with cricket use to play with my brothers. Is Soccer the same as the football you are referencing? I would say cricket its more fast pace. Cricket games can be long though. It takes to long to score on football.

i think that football and cricket are both different ball games altogether.one requires a lot of physical energy (running all the time) while the other requires finesse, skill and precision.I agree that football matches are good to watch as they are of short duration but the thrill of a very close one-day game is un-matched.also the test form of cricket is more exciting because it is more unpredictable.it can take a turn on any day.

you know what both the games are really different games and comparind them is really difficult but i admit that football is better because it is pacy it does not take all your day it is mostly about power
but i have a lot of practice in cricket and cricket flows in the viens of all indians guess that is the reason why i like cricket a little better than football

As you rightly said football is a fast paced game thrilling to the finish. But as a ardent fan of cricket I wish to inform you that this is also equally thrilling when you go in for a ONE-DAYer or now a days for a 20/20 match when you have to score to win. It also sets the tempo of the game to a fast pace and every ball bowled is cheered by the crowd.
GONE ARE THE DAYS WHEN PEOPLE SAID 11 FOOLS PLAY WHILE 11000 FOOLS WATCH.

We cant say whether cricket is greater or football as regarding me this is unwise for me to take a decision ....
so lets about cricket as when compared to the westren countries cricket is more popular in asian countries and a part of europe ...so for a guy like as i am from india i like playing cricket and i am also instrested in football but i only watch it ...so the more i prefer is cricket ...
So as cricket is a mind concious game, it is also played for long time and it needs lot of patience and hard work to take the game in our control....where as foot ball needs only2hrs of action packed game ....
so my feeling is cricket is more greater than foot ball......

I would love to go for cricket but unbiasedly I think soccer is more interesting and that's the reason it is the most popular sport in the world and is also quite popular in India specially in Easter, Northeastern and Southern states.
