A cat bit my daughter the other day. I went in for a rabies shot along with a anti tetanus shot to go with it. Is it enough? Is there anyhting I shud do?

Is the cat yours? If it is I think that I would get rid of the cat for the safety of your daughter. If it's not your cat have you taken any measures to make sure that the cat isn't biting other children and putting people in risk of getting rabies? I would call the humane society or your police department and make sure that someone knows what happened.

I would only do this if the bite was unprovoked if the chilld had steped on the cat etc then the cat was just reacting and instead teaching the child how to handle cats would be better .
Not all bites are the fault of the animal alot are caused when children don't know the proper way to approch or handle animals .I don't feel in those cases the animal should pay

if your daughter got bitten by the cat then why did you get the shots for you?

I hope that was just a mistype if it was not the daughter needs to go in as soon as possible.. As I work with wild cats, and no matter how wild they are they usually will not bite but will scratch either way both scratches and bites can lead to some very serious infections. I have handled wild feral cats all my life, so I am used to taking the proper percautions of cleaning the bites and scratches out right away, I get tetanus shots often... I do it every 2 years althought it required longer than that in between. I however deal with the seriously viscious little buggers... So it is important to clean the bite out right away, then if the good shot have not been recieved, take them in...

Just call your doctor as others suggested to ask him what he/she/hir thinks... and then.. Just keep the bite cleaned and treated as your doctor has shown and keep watch on it carefully, and if it looks bad or worse contact your doctor right away. - DNatureofDTrain
