No I don't think it takes away the manliness of a man. I like a man that is sensitive enough to cry and show his feelings. I have raised my son to never hide his feelings and that includes crying if he wants to. My hubby is pretty hard but he still shows his feelings by crying when something really effects him and makes him really sad.

Ofcourse chrislotz men have emotions and they express it.But crying ........that's a long way off the manliness. In todays world what we want is courage to face anything.Have you heard this.Do not share your problems with anybody for 70% will not care and 30% are glad to see your fate.Ofcourse there might be exception to this since there are your loving family members and a few sincere friends. But we are not confined to our family.I respectfully disagree with you in training your son to cry whenever he has strong emotions. After all he is a boy.I hope that you are not offended. If offended I am sorry, but its my view.

i don't why people make it an ego issue or a prestige things that a man can not cry..I mean why have an imposed rule if there is no rationale behind it..everyone might have different ways of expressing his/her emotions..but I think its pity natural for someone to cry when things are sad and dissappointing..and there is nothing unmannly if a man cries..I would not be surprised if i see a man crying.

men are human being as well, full of emotions and prone to heartache...i dont see any problems in men crying..in fact, i think it shows that they are sensitive too

I agree with you. Crying is healthy. It is horrible that society holds it to be so bad for men to cry... men need to release their feelings too. And I say this as a man myself.

Crying does not indeed look appropriate for men, like it or not. However, mean should not be ashamed to say that they cry. Just don't do it public.
