On the night of December 11, 1998, a man was murdered with an axe while he was sleeping. Police found out that he was living with his only son whom neighbors said was being prostituted by his father. They found the son inside his room covered in blood. When asked by investigators what happened, he revealed a mortifying story. "I killed the man who ended my life" said the ten-year-old boy with no sign of remorse. "If I'll be given a chance to kill him again, I would gladly do it." It is then that the police found out that the boy was being sold by his own father to pedophiles and that at the early age of 5, he was forced to take drugs. He is now serving his sentence at a juvenile home. Is he a victim or an assailant?

both. he finnally took power and control back over his life, but this kid is going t be messed up. his father took away any decent chance at a life this kid might have, which means that he probably doesn't value life. evidenced by the fact that he had no remorse after killing his father. so even though he is a victim, i don't think it is wrong that he has to be punished for the crime he committed. otherwise he might take out his revenge on innocent people in the future. i hope this kid ends up with a better life in the future.

Once a murderer will always be a murderer. I think he deserves to be punished and imprisoned for the rest of his life.

i dun yhink so..cuz a ten year old will hardly be able to differentiate between wotz good and wotz bad..hez definately a victim and should be counselled rather than punishing him

i think the kid does know what is good and bad. he knew that what his father did to him was bad. his father robbed him of his childhood, his innocence, of a good life. he has become someone with a very angry heart. i think he needs counselling, and in the process, i hope he learns that in the midst of all these, love still exists.

he is both. I do belive that his father got what he deserved in one way coz to do this to a child should be punished. at the same time he shouldnt have taken the law into his own hands and that was wrong of him.. Although i can not say i wouldn´t have done the same thing myself after beeing abused like that dor so long!

Did he ever have the proper guidence to know that murder was wrong? A kid has to be taught, and pay attention to the a hold that was teaching him.

and don't you think you would regret the consequences later on while you are lying in your prison bed? You will have your whole life spent thinking about that day.

A prison bed would probably be a nice change for what that poor child would have had to go through. I think he is the victim, and although he should be shown that murder is not the answer and punished in some way, what he REALLY needs is some care and counselloring... I hope his future is brighter than his past...

At ten years old he probably thought that it was his only choice. He is totally a victim.

i guess you're right but at ten years old, how can he be that angsty and brutal?

the boy is a victim of circumstances caused by his father so the father is the main assilant and needs to be punished.

The child is the victim. He committed murder as an act of self defense and should not be punished. He should be given a lot of help for mental illness that he no doubt has.

technically, it's not self-defense because the father is asleep. Self-defense is when you hurt or kill somebody during a heated argument or a fight, right? the boy's act was premeditated so it was murder.

He is ten years old! he is a victim. BUT.....I also think he should do some time. It still isnt right to kill anyone. I hope that while he is the juvi systemn they just dont let him sit there and think its ok to kill someone. I hope he gets alot of therapy for wht was done to him and what ultimately happened.

He is a victim not a murderer. A ten year old in that situation would not be able to see any other way out of his unbearable situation. The murder was, in itself, a desperate cry for help that he could see no other way of making. I only hope that the 'sentence' consists of careful and loving rehabilitation. I'm afraid he will always be 'damaged' but, often, damaged people make the most caring and compassionate humans in the end.

a tool or weapon - ?
at ten years old a chilc knows wrong from right. But in this case his judgement has been clouded by what has taken place in his life. I think they need to get him mental help and I also believe he needs to seve time as well. Hate to say it but if his dad really did what the kid said he did then he got what was coming to him. It's really hard to comment on these stories when there is no article to go back and read.

Both. He's only Ten...so i'm sure that he doesnt know what he was doing at that moment.Anyhow, victims or an assailant,he's just too young to be cage in the jail.Maybe serving him sentence at a juvenile home is the best option can be made. How sad can the world be..

I dont think he sould be in Prison in my opinion he was the victim his entire life .I'm not saying the committing murder was right but his father his life.

This is such a sad story. I think he is both, the sad part is that he also became a assailant when he comitted the murder. In a our civilised world one would expect that a boy at that age would have had the opportunity to tell his story to a relative or social services so that the correctaction could have been taken. This would have ensured that the boy is freed from this monster and rehabilitate his life!

No he is not and his is an extraordinarily sad story! But he being kept in a juvenile home is the right thing done! These type of kids grow up to become dangerous often causing harm tothe society! He should be provided with pschological counselling and lotsa love. Maybe some one known to him should adopt him in his family and make him feel responsible for the adopted family!

Both, I believe. It's almost an eye for an eye situation. It depends which one you think is worse - murder or pedophilia.

I think he is both. But! He also murdered the one who was selling him to other people for someone elses enjoyment, so he could say it was self defense. The poor boy lost half of his childhood!! I think he is more of a victim then anything, but only a court of law can decide :(

I think he was a victim cause he did'nt ask to be raped or rented out. If this story is true its pretty sick and wild.

in my opinion he is first of all a victim ...to put a child at that age to do such things it is very sad ....and even if at that age u don't make the diference beetwen good or bad u experience anger ....and this child got to a point when in his anger he put an end to the man that distroid his life .

He's a victim. And usually this type of crime the victim gets off. But I would say he needs a lot of help.

He is surely a victim not an assilant. all he did was right because to punish such a person is never against the humanity. the man who was killed was actually deserving that. any action taken in self defence is never a crime.
