Excellent! What are their titles? That is very exciting. I'm one of those lots-of-ideas-nothing-in-black-and-white type of writers for the most part (*sheepish grin*), although I do have several web content articles published already.

Yes. I have a few poems published in books of poetry by The Library of Poetry. A few different ones over the years. This year in June, I published a book of poems called "Healing Us" with Lulu (http://www.lulu.com/heal4michael). I also have a book of lyrics with them and a few photo books with photos I have taken. I've been told I'm good with the writing and the photos. It is the promoting and selling I need help with. I keep looking for ideas and advice.

Oh awesome! I'd love to do more photography on a semi-professional level becuase I do have several photos I've done around the house, etc that are (I've been told) as good as a professional. What kind of camara do you use? I'm looking to upgrade.

i love writing but i do not get enough time, so i am not able to publish any of my works. i am trying to work very hard so i get a lot of free time and i can devote my entire time towards writing and publishing my own books.

I'm also very busy...I have two gorgeous children; a son who is 2 yrs old and a daughter who is 7 months. I've learned how to focus and work in 15 minutes or 10 minutes here and there. I write probably an article a day or close to it when I'm home, but am rarely at my computer for more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time!
Cut out one television show a week and use that hour to work on your writing instead! Then when you do begin writing more full time you won't be out of practice.

I've published some poems in a college publication. Congrats on getting them in your local paper!! What subjects are you usually writing on for your academic stuff?

I've published a number of articles in various magazines, about a variety of topics. And I wrote a 600 word column each week, for five and a half years. The editor gave me free rein as to what I wrote about. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing!

*laughing* If you are anything like me it can be BOTH...very good and very bad. Like the little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead...*grin*

I've had several things published and am currently a writer for a weekly column, but the one thing that I am most proud of is a poem. I wrote it in a few minutes late on an unsettled Christmas day after my life had changed drastically.
I sent it to one of those poetry contest things and they paid me $100 for it, just like that! They published it in one of their compilations, where the fonts are small and the book is crammed with poetry, but I was very happy anyway and rather shocked that they wanted it.

I had some of the Poems I wrote published back about 25 yrs. ago or so, and wish I could somehow find someone who has these. I also have had stuff published in Newspapers, and another Writing site online that has since closed. But I am really wanting to be a Published author someday. This is one Goal I have and know I can accomplish it in time.

Several of us have published on AssociatedContent! Most of my articles relate to pregnancy and childbirth but I do have other topics I write about as well. Look me up! :-)

I have written a manuscript for children about autism. I cannot find anyone to publish it. I wonder why, with all the garbage out there, my book isn't making the cut.

Could you turn it into an article series? child.com has several publications they print (american baby, child, etc) that might be interested in something like that!

By the way, I have a friend who is a professional editor with a lot of freelance experience who might be able to help you pinpoint some simple things to make it a tighter book. If you want her info let me know. :-)

You should send more out! I've been encouraged recently that it makes much more sense to let some of what I've written sit on a publishers desk and possibly get picked up than to sit in my file cabinet and ever have anything come of it. :-)
Go for it! And when you get published and famous and wealthy remember who encouraged you. ;-)

What are the titles of your books? Did you go through a publisher or self publish?

I am thinking about writing a book of short stories. The reason is that I have so many ideas in my head for a book that I'm just thinking about putting all those stories together and making it out of one book. I'm already a member of lulu.com so all I have to do now is start writing. It's very exciting to me!

I've had a few poems appear in small circulation poetry magazines. Maybe 6 poems in all now, with 3 more due out soon. I have some articles here and there on the web too, one with an online magazine, and quite a number of ghost written articles for various websites. And I've written I don't know how many articles for an in-house publication for work. Oh, and a few things for school publications when I was in high school.

I also write for associated content. Mostly "how to" articles. I have had poems published-the last one was for the 2006 International Who's Who of Poets. :-) I want to write a book about what it's like being me. lol I've actually had people ask me to write this but I haven't done it, not sure where to start. Maybe soon I'll get to this one. Angel kisses to you and yours. :-)

I had a poem published when I was in highschool. It was a very interesting experience. I had beaten a lot of people whom had entered and it really meant something to a few people at my school. My teacher had it placed into our school newsletter and it was announced to the school on several occasions. It was a pretty cool experience.

I've written in Millionaire Magazine. The article was on the Wet Spa in Treasure Island Casino here in Las Vegas.
