While you are surfing on the net and you go to an unknown site how can you detect whether it contains virus or not before the virus affects your pc.

If you use IE or Firefox download a add-on called SiteAdvisor. It tells you if a site not good or not. If you want to the reviews of the site go to view site details and it would show the reviews.

Well if your antivirus and your anti spyware are of good quality, and you are having the latest updates installed, then your anti virus or your anti spyware will detect it immediately and a pop up message will come on screen. Sometimes they may not even allow you to access the site.
