Do you think it is right to lie to children about Santa Clause?

Im fairly new here and do not want to make enemies or pose questions that will start drama, but something the other day bothered me. I was at the mall shopping and there was a long I mean long line of parents taking their children to see "Santa Claus". I mean Ive seen this all my life, so it was nothing new but the thing that caught my eye this time was that I saw this one little boy and the look in his face was with such awe and love and I felt so bad for him because it was a lie! Thats when I asked myself why do these people lie to their children about Santa Claus when there is no such thing, but then we try to instill in them to be upright and truthful? How do you think they will feel when they eventually find out the truth?

I don't think it's right at all but it's every parent's choice, my son will soon be three and he says santa is fake, my mom told him that. I don't know if he knows the meaning of it all but it's like he's into santa or anything like that, he'll just see him on tv.

Depending on what age u are talk about. In most cases kids find out when they start attending school.

With so much violence and evil going on in the world, I see nothing wrong with letting a child believe there is still some magic left. Even if it's for a short time.
