Playing Video Games with Your Children

I am just curious to find out if anyone takes the time to play video games with their children? I am not saying that I like them playing video games all day, but when they are playing them I do occasionally help them and play the video games with them as a way to spend time with them and talk as we play. I have actually learned alot about my children by doing this. They seem to open up alittle bit more while playing games. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing like sitting down at the dinner table and talking, but I feel like this is extra time to spend with them. How about you guys?

My daughter will sit and play Animal Crossing with me. She also has attempted to play Zelda with my wife's help.

Well I have two boys (7 & 4) and they are more interested in football, baseball, racing games, star wars legos, things like that. I have bought them a few other games like Scooby, Nemo, Jimmy Neutron, Veggie Tales has one, and they seem to like those. I'm not very good at the driving games or the sports. LOL! I don't mind the star wars legos either. They just got me a crossword puzzle one for the ps2. I haven't been able to check it out yet though. I don't think they will be interested in that.

well i don't have children, but i do think it is a good idea. i like to watch people play video games because i find them really interesting. also, it has been found that video games with a lot of text to read can help your children improve their reading skills.
