How tv soap manipulate peoples minds.

In just about all the soaps on the tv, the plot seems to suit the current political situation. For example, in many countries there's a trouble with the different people /whether of diff. colours, orientation or religions/ getting on. So we'd see them in a soap getting married, being pals... and this is ok. But also if there is unpopular law just about to come to force surely we will see it going well in a soap! or at least we will see people in a soap thinking its ok, you know, it will be good for us.... dear oh dear! How far can tv go.
