I have to admit her last CD The Beekeeper did not grab me like the others. Usually I listen to the whole album and go I love every single song. I can not say that about The Beekeeper. I respect the songs I just dont love everysong on there. what does everyone else think?

Hmm. I really really dislike The Beekeeper. I think the only decent song on that album *wasn't* on the album at all - Garlands from the bonus dvd. That song is beautiful and heart-breaking. So, we do know she hasn't completely lost her mind and her ability to write beautiful musique. The rest - well, mostly they're rubbish, and I don't say that lightly because I'm a *huge* Tori fan. Ireland, Hoochie Woman, Goodbye Pisces, Ribbons Undone? *vomit* I listen to them and I actually cringe :( The new record CAN'T be anything like the Beekeeper. It just CAN'T.

I really liked the beekeeper song. Out of all of the songs that one seemed deep. It creeps me out and makes me cry at the same time. General joy and barrons of suburbia really helped when I went through some problems with work. Its all good but not wow.

I didn't really like the Beekeeper as much as her older albums either. I do like it - just not as much. I love Martha's Foolish Ginger and Sleeps with Butterflies... the rest I haven't listened to enough. In fact I would say I've probably only listened to the CD twice. I'm sure if I give it more time the songs will grow on me. I realize Tori is getting older... and her views on life have changed. So her music is changing as she changes.

Fair enough about Tori getting older and changing and evolving - but that doesn't mean she has to produce generic bland crap like The Beekeeper! I mean, this is the woman who wrote Boys For Pele and From the Choirgirl Hotel. I'm not saying I want BFP and FTCH Part II, but she is capable of so so much more. Well, at least I hope she still is :( Marthas Foolish Ginger is ok, actually. Sleeps With Butterflies....nice little hook, but totally bland fluff in my opinion. Sometimes bland fluff can be nice....but not from Tori Amos!

I think I like Martha's Foolish Ginger because she actually sings with a pretty voice... you know what I mean? Not her usual voice.

I love Tori, anything she puts out, I just consider it as "evolving", don't know why I love her songs so much =D

It took awhile for The Beekeeper to grow on me; I'm definitely a fan of her older stuff, but I also love the more mellow sounds of her Scarlet's Walk album too, so I'm not a complete purist. However, I then saw her perform 4 shows on her 2005 Original Sinsuality tour, and seeing her perform songs from that album live just blew me away. Now when I listed to "The Beekeeper", I am reminded of seeing her playing 2 pianos at once, how amazing she was in person.

Scarlets walk is my favorite. I love that album. I really dont understand why people dont love that cd. It seems like from choir girl hotel till the beekeeper people really havent liked her "new stuff". I can honestly only say I was disappointed in "the beekeeper."

I found Tori Amos' Beekeeper as a stage of toning down for her, which isn't a very bad thing, but of course everyone is missing the angry Tori (I always believe that her first album is her best with a a lot of memorable music, especially Crucify and Precious Things). But if we are basing on the lyrical style, I think she doesn;t falter at all. Sleeps with Butterflies is breathtaking as well as the very emotional Toast (my most favorite song in the album). Although some would argue that there's nothing new and experimental in Beekeeper, I still love Beekerper.
