if you have a terminal disease or illness, how long did it take you? I went thru hundreds of tests and misdiagsnoses. I was told I had lupus, cancer, lazy and I was a hypochondriac several times as my body grew weaker and I lost several muscular functions! Now I am confined to a wheelchair since its too late for me to get the early therapies to help me overcome the crippling effect of the disease.

I have another condition but it is in the same class as MS and Fibromylgia. I started having trouble when I was around 6 years old, however nothing was really done about it until I was in Grade 9 when it got out of control. But doctor did not believe I had anything wrong except for a pulled muscle and a bit of inflammations. However it continued to get worse and finally 12 years after the trouble began and 4 doctors later I had a diagnosis of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy but it was not concrete....and today I am still fighting to keep that diagnosis. Each new doctor want to change it or tell me I don't have it. They have even go as far as tell my Guardians(Aunt and Uncle who raised me) that it was their fault for they never gave me the proper attention and I have made this up for the soul prpose of attention. So I guess I am saying I understand what you are going through and I hope you find help and a doctor who will listen and help you. Take care.

With my illness I have found that aswell, doctor tend to make things worse in some cases....I found reiki, relaxation meditation and even some homeopathic treatment have helped aslong as I keep with them....even if it doesn't cure your condition it can slow it down considerable and it is all how you look at it.

this is horrible!! I would sue your doctor to get compensation for what was wrongfully taken away from you!!! I had a mis diagnosis but it was not as severe as yours. I was sick for several months, and they had told me is was several things before they finally found that I had baterial mono. I lost almost 60pds. and was confinded to a bed. I needed help going to the bathroom, and in home care for help with my daughter who was 5, and my son who was an infant at the time.

I too have Ms. They did every test you could possibly think of and it took almost 10 years to figure it out. I have a wheel chair too. Now on top of waiting so long to find out what was wrong I got Copd. which means my lungs are shutting down too.

That is very sad that you were not diagnosed earlier so that the treatment could have been of some benefit. I have in recent years nursed people in your condition and even though it is not what you wish, you can still lead a happy life as I have seen so many do! I wish you all the best!
