Buying a used car on-line

I have been thinking of buying a used car. In order to get the type of car I want I am considering looking on-line but I am not a very 'mechanical' person. I don't know much about cars and what to look for when buying one. I guess I could always ask someone who knows more about cars to come along with me when I go to look but just for the weeding out process, are there any questions I should ask.
Mileage would be one I guess...
Also is there some kind of chart that would tell me the value of car by make and age?

It definitely would not hurt to bring someone along with you when you go to see the car. Find out about 1. Mileage 2.Has the car ever been flooded 3. Has it been in an accident 4.Does it have a clear title 5.Is the car a re-constructed vehicle. Definitely take the car out for a test drive and look over everything carefully. I also recommend having a mechanic check it fully for you to make sure the engine it is good condition. Good Luck.

I have never bought a used car online but i think that it is a little risky because you cant be sure if it afford its money if you dont check it with an engineer at first.

As I can see your from Canada, try www.autotrader.ca they only list used cars and the prices are pretty much reasonable according to make n model n etc etc. Before making the final deal always take it to the garage and ask a mechanic what work does this car needs done? cheers
