Need for speed Carbon crashes in between

I have been playing Need for speed Carbon. While in game it crashes to the desktop. I am using Geforce FX 5200 128 MB graphics card.What may be the problem?
My PC specs
intel pentium IV 2.4Ghz
1Gb DDR RAM
Geforce FX 5200 128 MB
My friend has been playing smoothly with same specs.Can u please tell what may be the problem?
