Anyone have trouble deciding where to live and settle down?

I am a stay at home mother, and have had the hardest time trying to decide where in the world I would want to live for the rest of my life? For my husband it is easy, because it is wherever the work is, but he is in the mortgage industry, so you can work that practically anywhere. As for me, I have the hardest time trying to decide what area would make me the happiest! How do you go about even trying to decide what state would be the best!

When I first got married, 20 years ago, I didn't care where I lived! In fact, I couldn't wait to move out of my home town and live somewhere else. I had grown up in the same house my whole life and had never moved. So, we got married and moved 3 hours north. I loved it! Until 4 years later when the kids came.... Then I wanted my mom. I talked with her on the phone and we visited a lot, but it just wasn't the same as being there with her. So, 4 years after that, when my hubby got a job offer back near my hometown, we moved back. Now we live in the house I grew up in! And I can't imagine living anywhere else. Honest.

That's wonderful and I wish I could do something like that also. The place where I was from was ridiculously expensive though, and our house was really huge, so we couldn't afford that as our start up home!

I have this trouble now, I have no family now so I am free to go anywhere but that is a huge decision to make, I just have to hope one day something will come along that I know that is where I want to spend the rest of my life as soon as I see it.

It is always adificult issue deciding where to settle in.this mostly depends on the job location of the husband,However, if both husbands and wife are working, the decision becomes triky.one of the two has to compromise and decide the settling place mutually togethar. The couple must live togethar as far as possible so as to have fruitful marraige life.

I guess it will be the same thing that will be happening to me. In days or so, we will be moving out with my inlaws. We just purchased a residential unit, and were eager already to stay there. Though its not that far, it will take 30-45 minute drive, but the feeling to be away for your relatives is quiet unbearable..

Maybe you should try live first the place for few months then decide if you want to stay there for the rest of your life.

I am in the same situation! My husband and I have narrowed the possibilities by asking oursleves a few things: 1.) What type of seasons do you like? Warm all year-Florida. Cold all year-Maine and North, or a good mix of all seasons? 2.) Do you want to live in a tornado, eathquake, or hurricane prone area? 3.) Cost of living vs. inocme 4.) Safety (stay out of New York City!!) 5.) Do you want to live near relatives? 6.) Schools and jobs We just narrowed it down and decided to stay here in NC. We really do love it here and have the best of all seasons and we are in a safe location with a reasonable cost of living and good income. We are also close to relatives. I wish you luck in your choice-it can be a tough one!
