What are you doing for New Year's Eve?

My mother has always called New Year's Eve "amateur night" and stayed in on that night because so many people were out partying who didn't go out on any other night of the year. Seven years ago one of my very first dates with my husband was to go to a New Year's dance for the change to Y2K. It was pretty cool, but we're much more sedate now, especially since we have a little boy. We might send him to a grandmother and go out but we'll most likely stay home as a family. He loves to go get fireworks and then we hang out on the porch doing the fireworks. We'll cook something on the grill and just be together. Those are the best times I know.
