As a teacher i find students of today so much less interested in studies. They are not motivated and it takes so much more effort to get them to appreciate the value of an eduation than 10 years ago. Why is there a waning interest among students today?

I don't think students have really changed that much. You might be comparing those people you spent time around in your days as a student or comparing your current students to a frame of mind that was peculiar to you. You might want to stop and think about the TYPES of students you are dealing with. There may be some cultural issues that you are not aware of.
