Let us discuss why suicide is consides as a sin. Should t consider. If i am havng a vigorous life, then t is better to end it. Why should i hold u and have a life full of pain. THe people who call it a sin is just have a wonderfull or udjestable life, and they cant understand or feel that persons suffering. If they are argung about that, then do something to ease his pain. Its not good to get him behind the bars for attempting so.
We have the right to live, so the right to take away this life too. Dont say that god dont like it. say why ethically we should suffer. Dont say that the god gifted me a life so that i should not take t myself, hey if the life is bad, then it should not say as a gift. Why should i suffer??????? answer me
Please dont tell that bbble tells so, and we should follow. Dont be a blind follower.

In my religion it's a sin, because God created us and gave us life and he will take it when he's ready, it's not for us to end our lives. God will never give us a burden that we cannot bear, he's there to help us through it, when times get hard we have to turn to him for help, he created us and can see us through anything that life has in store for us.

Except for the religion part I truly love your answer. I suffer from depression and i do think the deep sadness i feel can only end if i take my own life. There are people praying for me and that is why i think i am here today. I wish i had someone like you but around my age for a true friend. Someone who would just be there to listen and to really hear what i had to say. Please don't tell me to seek counselling because i am seeking but i am not quite there yet.

Well, I'll start off by saying that I am a "blind follower", but that isn't the argument I'm going to take.
Is your pain physical or emotional? What is the cause of your pain? Are you depressed?
I've suffered with depression most of my adult life, and I well know the feelings of blackness and hopelessness that a depressed person can be plunged into. I've wondered lots of times why I'm still on this earth, yet I've really never considered leaving it.
I think about the pain I would cause my husband and my son. I couldn't do that to anyone I cared about. So if you have any loved ones, realize the years of self-guilt and grief you'll be sentencing them to.
There's nothing so bad that it can't be fixed unless you are terminally ill. I've known a lot of people who had no hope of recovery yet they pushed with everything they had until the end. A beautiful girl I knew in the high school where I worked graduated and started getting ready for college when she found a lump in her neck. She tried every new treatment she could find. She was hospitalized over and over. Her boyfriend wanted to get married, but she wanted to wait until she was well. She never got well, but she ended up with 3 more years of life than she would have had if she'd given up. She knew her life was worth fighting for.
It's too bad that you can't get to know God better than you do, because He would be your source of strength and wisdom. It's hard to face problems alone. At least you're reaching out to people here. That must mean you want help.

"blind follower" has such a negative connotation. i'd like to say we're simply people with faith.

it is biggest sin a human can ever commit. it is clearly written in the bhagwad gita do your work do not worry for the results.
You have control over doing your respective duty only, but no control or claim over the results. The fruits of work should not be your motive, and you should never be inactive. (2.47)
Do your duty to the best of your ability, O Arjuna, with your mind attached to the Lord, abandoning worry and selfish attachment to the results, and remaining calm in both success and failure. The selfless service is a yogic practice that brings peace and equanimity of mind. (2.48)
Work done with selfish motives is inferior by far to the selfless service. Therefore be a selfless worker, O Arjuna. Those who work only to enjoy the fruits of their labor are verily unhappy, because one has no control over the results. (2.49)

Well it is very simple.
Thou shalt not kill...
Now if you don't believe in God then there isn't really an issue, but if you do it's still very simple.
Does God have a plan and does he truly know the end from the beginning?
If you believe that and you don't believe the law that states not to kill you are just a hypocrite believing those things you approve of and not the rest. Are you more knowledgeable than God!!

you have the right to choose whether to live or die.But why not make it for a noble cause.need not be by joining the army or doing social service.
however if it in anyway benefits someone you love in someway, its truely a noble sacrifice.

i think the reason is that when we have been given such a beautiful life by god,we still do not understand it and lose it for petty reasons.
thats y its a sin.

Why we consider that pissing in public places is against the law? Because of the rules. Religion means rules. They are just so many rules everywhere. Religion wants you 24h a day. Isn't this a slavery?

sairam,
"pleasure is a pause between two pains".we should never forget this statement.remember one thing the pains and sorrows which you are facing are the results of ur deeds.so dear friend its our duty now to face them."do your best and leave the rest",just remember this and we can aim dizzy heights in our life by nullifying the pains and pestures of life.
