Who make better pets? DOGS or CATS

I think that cats are the absolute best. I have a cat who is just as smart if not more smart than any dog I've ever met. He stays with the kids if they wake up in the middle of the night until we are with them. He paws at the fridge water dispenser when he is thirsty and we have failed to fill his dish. He knows when we are sick comforting us. If we sleep beyond the alarm he wakes us up. He is awesome. Any non cat lover who has ever come over our house, always has the same thing to say. I don't generally like cats, but I would take him in a heartbeat. What do you think?
