According to one site, the main purpose of the Steinway Society is to encourage young people to develop their musical talents. Looks as though there are a number of branches of it around the US.
Keep up the piano study, by the way. It's a great thing to have throughout your life. (I've been playing since I was seven, and I'm now 61)

Well, welcome to the sixties club, Oldwood! :)
It's quite an achievement to learn to play an instrument when you're older: the fingers don't want to work so well, and the brain has to do a lot of tough stuff to read, think and play. My congratulations to you!

I also am in my sixties and I plan on studying the rest of my life. My teacher is exceptional and has taught me more than just playing the piano. The Steinway Society here in San Jose gives concerts every sunday afternoon to introduce all the exceptional young piano talent. Every 4 months we have a recital and play just for us older students and end up with a dinner party. Some of those students are also taking more lessons through Standford University and have become quite advanced.
