How the weather of a particular region affects your feelings about it

Among all the states of the United States of America, the one that I like the most is California's weather. Some part of California have snow and some don't just like where I used to live before. Personally, I hate snow. More accurately, I hate snow when it melts and freezes into cold solid ice. When snow turned into ice, it is very sleepery and dangerous. You might get an hip fracture when you step on it and fall. California's weather is ideal for me. The place where I used to live doesn't snow but it is still cold during winter just like any other place here in the U.S. I think California is the summer and winter vacation destination for everyone.

I've never been to California ever since. But given the chance to visit a certain place, I'll choose California, too. The place is nice. I read it in a geography books.

What interests me with weather - is variations.
I will tell you what I mean: Usually a person needs to travel for hours (or more...) in order to change the climate zone where ho or she is.
Not with me!!!
Ask why?!??
Well , I live in what is possibly the most diverse place in the world when it comes to climate:
If I want desert - I have it.
If I want Mediterranean climate with fantastic beaches- I have it.
If I want a central European climate - I have it.
If I want to snow ski in the morning and 2 bathe in a subtropical world's biggest natural spa within driving distance or less than 2 hours - I have that as well.
All in a tiny little country - Israel.

Born & raised in SoCal! You know, there just aren't too many places where you can snow ski in the morning, ride dirtbikes across the desert in the afternoon, then go have a bon fire at the beach...All in one day! Yeah, you know I love it! Oh, all you people thinking about moving here, uh, I'm just kidding. Yeah, yeah. Just kidding. DON'T MOVE HERE! It's nice to have you visit, but please remember to go home! ;-)

As a Native Californian and life long SF Bay Area resident I have been to a dozen states for work at all times of the year and I would not want to live anywhere else. Sure we pay more for everything which sucks but we consider it the Weather Tax.
