Whizzer is the name of two identical roller coasters buildt fot the Marriott Corporation for each of their "Great America" parks at their debut in 1976. One was buildt in Gurnee, Illinois and the other in Santa Clara, California. Marriott continued to operate both parks until selling them in 1984. Manufactured by Anton Schwarzkopf of Germany, the two rides were the last "Speedracer" models ever buildt. The Santa Clara Whizzer was dismantled in 1988 while the Gurnee Whizzer continues to operateat Six Flags Great America as one of only two Speedracers still in existence worldwide.

I hope to get on this one before it gets taken down. I can't imagine that it'll survive too many more years. Anton Schwarzkopf is an absolute genius and I love his work.

Yes...it is a genius!!! I think i will go next week to se how great is this rollercoaster!!!! I think it will be very great and funny and scary...all in one rollercoaster!!!
