I just saw Apocalypto, and have to say it was a well done movie! This is one of the many that have come out showing us the brutality of the ancient civilizations. So, my question is could you live in those days? Is seeing death on a constant basis a "bad" enviornment?
I have friends that I know would survive for sure! Me, I'm not that positive about living for all that long. I probably wouldn't have lived long enough for the movie to start!

my husband and i have been planning to see this movie, definitely we will soon. i was even warned about the gory scenes, asked if i can stand them, i guess my stomach is strong enough, lol! well, about your question about survival, i guess every human is given the capacity to adapt to any environment, so we all can. the difference lies on how long. with the apocalypto preview i've seen, i guess with trembling body and puking mind, i'd survive - run and hide, even fight. if you'd ponder on this, the world we have now is nothing different, just different showings of human's animal side, and modern ways of killings. all the same, it's still a men-eat-men world, survival of the fittest, with lots of mean subtle sacrifices.

that's right. internet can be 'safer', though not really. even here in mylot there's 'war', lol! back in the literal jungle, i guess i'd be a better runner than a fighter too :)

I guess you have to worry about identity theft these days right!?! Well I guess I better get capitol one because it seems like they could help you out all the way back in the Viking days!

One thing about the gore is that I think you'll be okay, because it's all in good context... I'd definately be a runner, not just because I'm kinda fast, if I do say so myself, but because I'm kind of small... I don't think it's the same today though, as I sit in a leather computer chair talking to people who knows were on the internet. If I was alive back then, I'd probably be trying to have a kid or hunting the forrest....

It's a gory one! It was put in good context, because it was all factual from what I understand. So, my question to you is... Could you live in a place without shopping, make-up, cleansing products, and hairstylists?

I still question whether I would survive in a world where I have to kill my dinner and sometimes kill people invading my territory! I really wonder how all those vegitarians would do!

i haven't seen the movie yet, but am looking forward to it. i can, however, respond to the question of survival. you would survive and so would i. humans tend to deal with the situation they find themselves in. if you didn't know any other way of life then how would you NOT deal with it?...simple, you would have to, because that would be all you knew!

Yeah, I guess I'm pretty fast. I could run from trouble lol. I think my head would be pretty messed up by the time I see all of that killing! I guess it goes with the old saying sink or swim...
