Is anybody using ebay? Is ebay.com an honest site? I mean, have you ever bought anything from ebay? And it worked? It's not just a trick? I see they ask you to send the money first and then they'll send the product you asked. But how can you be sure they'll send it? Has anyone really bought anything from ebay?

I've bought and sold things over ebay for abought 8 years and yes, it is an honest site, They try every which way to protect you and make sure you dont get scammed and are being fair to te other guy as well as he being fair to you. I've only had to give up getting a refund once in those years by a joker and they were very upset about not being able to catch him and sent me a discount on my next purchase on ebay. Now thats customer satisfaction!

I sell things on eBay on a daily basis. In my opinion it is more trustworthy that going to a department store and buying it. Why you ask?
Ebay hired a company to do all of there transaction and actually now they own the company. It is called Paypal. What it is is a company that you hook your credit card or bank account to and it does everything for you.
If you never recieve a product you paid for, Paypal will refund you up to $1000.
I would definatly use eBay. So much easier than going to stores.

I am not sure whether the question should be 'Is ebay an honest site?' Because the website is, but some users are not. If a users says he will send you something but doesn't then there is only so much ebay can do. They will probably adress that person and give out a warning. And you can go to the police probably. But you still don't have the stuff you bought. Try to buy things from people who have already sold a lot to others users and look at their reputation. If that looks okay, I would trust that seller.
I myself have used ebay several times and have had positive experiences. Once I was the highest bidder, but the guy emailed my days later and said he had already sold it to another person, so that wasn't very nice.

I've purchased many things on e-bay. You can get great deals, but you have to be selective. The best way to keep from getting burned is to check out the sellers feedback left by other buyers, this will give you some indication of how reliable they are. Another thing to be aware of before you bid on an object is to check the shipping charges, make sure they are reasonable or don't bid on it. Hope this helps, happy bidding!!

I have never had a problem with eBay. I would not worry about eBay. Just pay attention to the individual seller you plan to buy from. Check their feedback scores and read what others have said about them.
As far as sending the money first...if you were selling a diamond, would you ship it off to someone unknown before you had the money for it in your hand?

Ebay is very honest. It is everyday people like you and I . I sell on ebay and know that they are wonderfull. I have made several purchases on there too. If you use pay pal to pay for your items, then it is fully replaceable if you do not get your item they will refund your money. Very good company.

I've never bought anything from ebay...well not yet....but i know ppl who have and the items they bid on or buy now are good. My mom uses it alot but she never bought anything that was used. I use to sell crystal on ebay and they have guidelines and requriements you have to meet in order to sell on the site .... like an account so if someone has a complaint they can file a dispute and get the $$ authomatically. So you cant get away with much on ebay. Nice topic takecare.

I've always found it to be very honest, both in terms of buying and selling. I've done over a hundred transactions on the site and had no bad experiences. Obviously some people have had problems, which is to be expected given the size of the site, but overall I think it's THE auction site on the internet.

It's not ebay that is dishonest, but some of the sellers ON ebay. I buy and sell many things on ebay. It's a great place to get rid of old things you have lying around.. outgrown practically brand new baby clothes, collectibles... and a great place to get a deal on the same! Ebay isn't a trick.. think about it, anywhere you go on the internet to buy something, you pay before they ship it...do you not?? How can you be sure (as a seller) someone would actually pay if you've already sent out their product?
