Do you have a housekeeper or do you do all the cleaning yourself?

I used to have a lovely lady clean my floors and bathroom once a week when I worked full time. Now I think thata would be a luxury as I only work part time. What do you think? Do you have a house cleaner? (other than your mum if you live at home ha ha)

My aunt used to come to my home onece a week and do my cleaning. However, her work was never satisfactory and when I moved to my new house, it was too far for her to travel. I don't think I would like to have another housekeeper, as I like to do things in my own time and only if I feel like doing them. Nobody here, would notice if I skip the cleaning for a couple of weeks so why bother doing it every day. I love my lazy lifestyle.

I dont have a housekeeper and would never want one for 2 key reasons...3 key reasons LOL #1 - its my house and our mess why should i have some stranger pick up after us? besides I dont mind housework #2 - I would never feel comfortable having a stranger in my home rumaging through my things #3 - I refuse to pay someone to do work that i am very capable of doing myself. My mum had one though yrs ago, she has long since passed on but she was a very nice older lady....and a couple of friends of mine actual do housekeeping for a living

Some people actually like doing housekeeping for a living. I sort of agree with you but I didn't have a lot of time spare when I worked full time and it was just beautiful to have the floors clean when you got home (she was my cleaning fairy!!)

I don't have a housekeeper but I wish I did. I do almost all of it myself. Actually, I wish that the people who lived here in the house with me would do some housework without me yelling at them all the time.lol.

all of the reasons above not to have a housekeeper i do agree with. However, i am disabled and cannot take care of my house nor my household chores. I am very grateful to have someone to come in everyday to help me out.

I am a home care nurse and we have a lot of clients that have someone do the cleaning for them even once a week. It is one less thing to worry about. Thanks for your response.

No I do my own housework, but twice I had someone come in to do my housework (after 2 ops. separate times) and the silly thing about it was I cleaned certain areas before she arrived, so guess I would do the same now if I had someone come in again! lol Crazy, I know!

I know I used to make sure the washing up was done and the beds made before she came so she didn't think we lived like pigs haha...

I have never had a housekeeper. I do all of the cleaning in our household. I would love to have the luxury of having a housekeeper some day.

It's like arriving home from work and someone has waved a magic wand over the place. A bit of a luxury though.

I had house keepers that would come in once a month, and clean 3 rooms for me. The trouble was, I actually needed them more than that! I just didn't have the money. If I ever get really well on our feet, I plan on it! So for right now, we do the cleaning ourselves. we try!

when we were younger, we had our housekeeper but she got old and we tried our best to find a new one..however, there were a lot of complaints regarding the person we hired or she keeps on disobeying my mom's instructions...in the end, we decided to have it our way and we just do all the chores..during weekdays, my mom would be the one to attend to all the household duties because my dad and i got to work and my sister is still in college..on weekends, we do all the chores and let my mom attend to her personal needs..

Do husbands count??? lol We just stayed at a motel, normally when we stay somewhere, they don't bother with room service till after we go. Leaving fresh towels (if required at the door), Day 1 we went out for a few hours to come back to someone had clean up after us... Freaked me out big time, wish they had warn me... Next few days we cleaned up or hid any mess before we left... lol

I used to do housekeeping for a living, but not no more. I do clean my own home, never had a house cleaner, but sometimes I wish I did.But it has to be someone I no.You just can't trust people any more. My daughter has a house cleaner if fact there is 3 of them that come to her house every 2 weeks, and one of the ladies stole her husbands pain pills. So they fired the maids and got 3 different one.And so far they are happy with them. so watch out who you hire.

How awful for your daughter to have someone steal from them. I visit elderly people as part of my job and they are very vulnerable. I would hate to think that someone would take advantage of any of them for any reason.

I wish I did have a housekeeper. My family thinks I am the housekeeper and the maid. The only housecleaning I don't do it take out the trash.

I used to have a cleaner who came once a week. She used to put the new sheets on the 4 beds, clean the bathroom & kitchen floors, do the dusting, and general tidying, all for $25 for 2 hours. She quit for a better job, and I have not found another one yet. If I find someone else, I will try to convince my husband that it would be a good idea to have one rofl.

That's not too expensive for a clean house I think. I used to love my cleaning fairy it was well worth the money. I paid about the same I think.

I have a lady servant works. She comes in the morning aroud 11am and goes off within 1pm. She washes utensils and clothes, wiping the floor. That is all she does. Rest of the work, i do it all the time. But when i get married, i would love to do everything for myself. I dont want to keep housekeeper or servant.

I am a house cleaner. I wasn't always a house cleaner. I worked in an office before. I now do this because I have a family and I can make my own schedule. Cleaning houses gives me exercise too. It's also a lucrative business. Dirt= money lol!
