Should programs be cut from schools due to funding?

Many schools are cutting things like music programs because of funding. My daughter's high school does not have a cheerleading squad because they don't have the money. Do schools need these activities, or is it no big deal to cut out certain things in the agenda?

The problem is not the school's fault but the government not contributing enough money to public schools that already exist. I have seen new schools in nice neighborhoods that have all the money they could possibly want to build a huge stadium for their football field when a struggling older and smaller school has to cut the drama program or can't provide enough books because they dont have the funding. It's all about how the money is spread around...
