I guess I go for the fifth person who emerges through their union. The effect of Harrison's guitar, Starr's drums and the voice of all of them, especially the combination of McCartney's and Lennon's create a magic, which is essential to The Beatles effect. They are wonderful individuals too, but the magic they created together was much more than the magic they created individually.

I am surprised I am the only one who is really fond of Harrison. Ever since I saw Concert for Bangladesh I have had so much respect for him. He really was an amazing person - the quiet Beatle (or so they said). He brought some amazing influences to the group, and his songs were a little different from the Lennon/McCartney ones - not better, but certainly different. Songs like "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun" have a certain sparkle to them. I feel bad that I am too young to have seen this band in their prime.

Beatles are legendary, Music icons, mUsic landmark and therefore, nobody has the authority to ask whos teh coolest of them? If I say Lennon is the best, many of you guys will react and hate me, If I say Mc artny some body will hate me, If george or Ringo still somebody will hate me. The word BEATLES is not complete if you will omit one of the member of the group ok. Is that clear??? Let us all enjoy in listening, singing, and playing their wonderfull music..

Speaking of Ringo. Did anyone know that he was on PBS as Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station?

I think Ringo is the coolest. It was great to see him as the tiny conductor on the PBS kids show Shining Times Station, the show with Thomas the Tank Engine. For me that made him even better. What other teen phenom would do a goofy little kids show that had a moral for every episode?

during the 80s/early 90s he did the voiceover and the voices of all the characters for the orignal English Thomas The Tank Engine series. I used to watch it in my childhood and do impressions of him, how his voice never changed between the characters words and the naration, and tell relatives that he was a Beatle :-)
Turned out he either still was or had been an alkaholic and only did it because he needed the money.

Although all Beatles members can sing but I think Paul McCarthy has the best voice among the four. His pitch is higher than the others and his voice is very nice.

In my opinion they are all excellent in their respective part of the group. Ringgo, was able to revolutionized the way drums should be played. Paul and John are both excellent melody composer and lyricists, bot are very good with guitar and piano and other musical instrument. And George was also excellent in his part as composer and intrumentalist.

I don't think George Harrison was replaceble, maybe Paul was..no, But I think John was the leading man, you'll see it in their solo careers, the careers of the others went on till now and they haven't reached the level of the John Lennon solo albums, my meaning of course but I think the brain was John and that makes him the coolest guy.

I think all of them, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Each of them, have their respective talents to form parts as a successful rock'n roll band during the 1960's. The songwriting talents of John, Paul, and George were the catalyst of the group's charisma and popularity, and Ringo's blending to the songs was extraordinary. They were the best as a group "The Beatles", but faded when they had broke-up in the late 1970's. The good thing their legacy, skills, and talents had influenced the later and current rock'n roll bands.

I dont think we can separate McCartney and Lennon....they...as a TEAM...were the BEST!
Harrison and Starr seem replaceable...IMO

I think its a close tie between John and Paul. They both contributed so much to the group.

although I prefer Mccartney, musically, you asked for the coolest. Definately George Harrison. If you don't agree, watch some of their cheesey movies, my favorite was...oh, the name escapes me, but the plot was that George had a ring on his finger that the crooks were trying to get. It was sort of a beatle-esk, meets james bond thing. Proves that harrison was the coolest. (Tongue in Cheek)

I always had a thing for Paul. I loved his voice, his songs, his personality, his guitar, his look. (Hey, I was 12 when they came on the scene!) Since those early days, Paul has proven to be the most prolific songwriter and performer of the four, granted John would likely have kept up had he lived to do it. So for me, it's Paul.
