I recently read a post where the author was complaining that some people post to many topics here on my lot. He/she states that people are not following through with the discussions and are posting hundreds of topics only for profit. My question is this. If you post a topic that has no or very little response then why shouldnt you post another topic right away ? How long should you wait for a response ? 1 day, 3 days, a week, a month ? You cant force people to respond, you cant force people to participate in a discussion that doesnt interest them.
Why would anyone care how many topics you post for discussion ?
Whats your take on the subject ? how do you feel about multiple post? Should people be limited to a certian number of post per day ?

Yes, you have to be patient and realistic and most folks are. I think the complaint was probably aimed at the people who are literally posting dozens and dozens of discussions every day. I okayed one of them for My friend and was inumdated with his postings to the point were I couldn't even find the other two people I'd put as friends. The people who are doing this are trying to make money on the points but don't really give care about the discussions. They're just playing the numbers. Unfortunately, it can get bothersome. I like to check to see what my friends have posted and I try to respond to at least one of their discussions but if one of them has 100 discussions up, that's just overkill. Also, those people tend to invite everybody new to be their friend so they can get their responses in but they don't support their friends. How can you even read your friends discussions when you have 800 friends?

I think as you, perhaps but you do not need to read all of a time, can make this a little of each time 5 per day or more. I think that it is a form of if helping and helping its friend.
Therefore one remembers that if its reply she will be chosen as best, you will earn much more

I think that people do overkill with ridiculous discussions, as many as they can get in to make a few pennies. I often go to peoples profiles just to see what kind of stuff they are posting about. I have had a few of my discussions bomb out, that just made me think longer and harder before posting another. I like to start discussions about things I really feel passionate about so that when I do get a reply I can also reply to them with meaning.

Its ok when poeple make a lot of posts in a day as long as they are sensible. There is one guy who frustrates me to no end..he posts atleast 5 posts revolving around the same topic but only its rephrased!! Everytime I go to the new responses section, out of the 10 that are displayed on a page 6 are his!And what is worse is, none of his topics are complete nor do they ask for an opinion or anything. Most of them are mere statements with a "?" in the detail section. Now isn't that unfair?? People need to be patient to get replies and sometimes it might take a month or more to get a reply on a particular discussion. These poeple just add more and more discussions just to make money and they really don't care if anybody replies or not.

I do not think that there should be a limit on posts.that is the purpose of the site,I think that the person that is complaining needs to focus more on finding a discussion or discussions that may be of interest instead of complaining about the people that post that do have something of interest to read.so I totally agree with you.

I agree on certain counts and disagree on others... For starters, it's completely wrong to post again and again (also referred to as spamming)... on the other hand, a forum is a place to express your opinion, so limiting the number of posts completely defeats the purpose...
The point i'm trying to make is that it's not a simple yes or no answer... It's one of the grey areas...

Yes, this is one of the problem of MyLot. Too many people is here just to make money. So they post or start discussions like crazy but never check their discussions after. So if you post about them (becuae sometime they are interesting) you do not receive any answer. It's the end of a Forum if there is no partecipation. When I start a new discussion I reply to post because I like exchange info or opinion.

The problem lies in the design of mylot itself. There can be no such thing as a quality discussion here in my opinion because of how flawed the rating system is.
If you start a topic, you do not get credited for it unless at least one person responds to it. If you respond to a comment in your own topic you do not get extra points. You are stuck with that one point.
Same with discussions started by others. You can post one response or one comment but that's is as far as rating goes. Once again you can answer a gazillion times in a topic but you only get that one point.
This is why people start tons of topics, some pointless, others repetitive and a few which are ironically needlessly thoughtful. Most of us wouldn't be here if we didn't get paid (used loosely) for this and most of us do what we can to make money while staying within myLot's guidelines. :)

well this is depends on the person... this is the truth and you want to accept it..well see fingers of hand are not similar...so you have to tolerate this
but i think when mylot has given alert about nonsense topics..such topics getting deleted or decreases..even intially my tendency is towards the posting of one or two words...my rating get decreases to a considerable extent...so i changed my approach...
when mylot will stop payment to such scammers...it will stop..better is that you give them negative response to delete them quickly from mylot!!

I THINK accurately as you! I believe that nobody is obliged to answer the topics that we make or we leave to make.
A time also lí a topic that that said the Mylot would have to forbid the topics that spoke on religion. I think that if you do not agree to a topic you are enough only you not to answer, therefore is not part of its interests. Or it starts to only answer to the topics that are in its interests thus will not have problems with topics that do not please you.

it is like lauching a product in market.
the owner will do it in favor of customer and for him also.
the result is different.
people may like it or not but the owner has some policy
to continue it or not or launch something new?
same way our topics of discussion would go on trial.
it is better to post your real matters and others will like
it and reply.
you can check my site if you want .

It's not about the numbers, it's quality that people are complaining about and they are right, no one can post 100 meaningful discussions a day, when you do a search or browse through mylot you will find dozens of discussions that say exactly the same thing or asking the same questions, some even copy their discussions from older ones without making the effort of changing a few words :(
Maybe there should be a reasonable limit to how many discussions one can post, something like up to 30 a month and up to 5 a day (because some people don't login every day) .. I don't think anyone can post more than 30 quality discussions a month this can limit a lot of trash and spam we see at mylot and open the door to more meaningful discussions to appear to more members and receive more replies. Many members are complaining that their discussions doesn't get exposure and don't come up because of this endless flood of new discussions every minute where 90% of it is repeated or stupid discussions.

i think that you should be able go ask as many questions as you like. i also think that it is only right if you answer to a posting that person should respond with a thank you or something. other then that what is the point. i mean we are hear to make some extra money, but we are also here to share ideas. if people don't respect the fact that you took a moment for them, why be bothered asking any questions at all.

i dont have standard time to wait people response my topic and i know i cant force people to response my topic. but something true that i never post same topic again in mylot, its better to me to find another topic.
Multiple post is anoying too especially that posting in long sentences. i hope the person who made multiple posting doing this undeliberately. maybe it caused of network problem as like my experience. but if he/she did it deliberatelly, its really annoying

It is really a serious issue, admins shoul limit users to start new discussions, for example every user should be allowed to start only 2-3 discussions per 24 hours. That will give enough time to mylot admins to control the qualities of discussions here too. I saw at least 15 discussions started by the same user, it is frustrating really. Something shuld be done

Everyone has their free will to choose a certain suitable response for their own discussion. If they felt that the response is good then they select the response. There are so many people who want to respond for so many discussion in mylot.

I don't care how many topics they post, at least not if they make sense. I think that what he's complaining about is that there are a lot of people who post hundreds of topics saying nothing, without even a real discussion. Those people are just posting for the money and that bothers me too, because they post only for the money and other my lot-users have to carry the consequences of that.

I think there shouldn't be a quota on how many topics a person posts per day.
Since myLot keeps growing, the topics could well cater for a widespread dicussion.
The only thing is that the topics must make sense.
