I can't believe how many people can't or won't take the time to proof read...

I have only been on myLot for 1 day and already I can't believe how bad the post are. How much effort does it take to re-read you post and fix it so we can enjoy reading it instead of feeling that you are just posting to earn pennies... How much effort does it take to put spaces between words. DUH I am sure it has nothing to do with poor english skills because you would not do that in your own language.

Majority of the people here in MyLot come from non-English speaking countries. Their first language isn't English so native English speakers should be more patient. Maybe these people whose English isn't very good thought that they have started a discussion or put a comment in the best and most perfect English they could.

I so agree with you. English isn't everyone's first language here and we need to be patient, overlook the grammer and spelling and get to the gist of what people are trying to say. But your comment on proof reading holds true, there is no excuse for people who're just being too lazy to proof read.

I understand you. I know you're not being disriminative or anything. Sometimes. when I see posts with terrible grammar on it, I feel disappointed and I lose interest. Sometimes I want to correct them but I don't want to offend anyone.

I hope no thinks I was making comments about non-english people, not at all. I was just pointing out the lack of spaces and puncuation. I have found that if you preview you discussion all the paragraph breaks disappear and make for a messy looking post. After the first couple like that I started to copy the comments I make to the clip board and then preview the post. When I am done, just before submitting the post I will highlight it again and paste the copy in memory that still has the paragraph breaks. That's all I was really trying to say. Don't want to hurt any feelings without actually meaning to. :)

I'm guilty of that too! I'm impulsive and hit the 'post' button the moment I finish typing only to discover mistakes later. I wish to mylot had a edt button that would let us correct mistakes later.
