Did you know? 1. It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky. 2. It is impossible to lick your elbow. 3. Rats multiply so quickly that in 18 months, two rats could have over a million descendants. 4. No piece of paper can be folded in half more than 7 times. 5. Venus is the only planet that rotates clockwise. 6. Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning. 7. A crocodile can't stick its tongue out. 8. A shrimp's heart is in its head. 9. The liquid inside young coconuts can be used as substitute for blood plasma. 10. In a study of 200,000 ostriches, over 80 years, no one reported a single case where an ostrich buried its head in the sand. 11. A pregnant goldfish is called a twit. 12. More than 50% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call. 13. The first owner of the Marlboro Company died of lung cancer. 14. If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. 15. The King of Hearts is the only king without a moustache. 16. The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet. 17. A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. 18. Butterflies taste with their feet. 19. Dentists recommend that a toothbrush be kept at least 6 feet from a toilet to avoid airborne particles resulting from the flush. 20. Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour. All the useless information that you didn't know that you needed to know, just in case of a Trivia night that is. :)

I must be slipping in my old age. I only knew 3 of them. But now I know 17 more bits of trivia. Thanks for passing them on to us, Ossie. #17 is the one that upset me. I hate cockroaches. LOL.

Yes, cockroaches are vermin and although I do know they are part of the ecological chain that doesn't mean I want them anywhere near me. It was good to read that you learnt something new from this little lot, so now amaze everyone with your new found knowledge Claudia. :)

WELLLLLLLLLLLl, I need to burn calories...and with my two daughters, have thought of banging my head against the wall....Painful! I will have to think of something else to burn off those 150 calories.... I knew the one about the shrimp. Interesting facts you have here! Thanks for posting such odd trivia! I am going to amaze and astound my friends and family...esp that king card thing! *LOL*...and I didn't know that about pigs....amazing!

I am pleased that you enjoyed and learnt something from these. Trivia can be so interesting and as you say we can astound and amaze family and friends with this sort of thing. Trivia was something that our son used to collect from a young age but called it "useless stuff everyone should know". LOL

I got 8 out of 20 right so I guess I flunked. Oh well, we can't all be perfect. I love trivia. The one about the elbow is different from the one I know.....The elbow is the only place that you can put one hand where the other hand can't touch it. Six of one half dozen of another.

hi, these are really interesting and fun information. I have known about trivia #1,#4 ( I have tried it myself) #8 (learnt it from school). The moment I read your trivia #2, I experiment it and have my friends to tried it too,it's true nobody able to lick his/her elbow. For #9,never know that young coconut liquid has such usage.I live in a tropical country with lots of coconut trees, how come there is so less people know about this alternate usage of young coconut liquid ? It is really sad to know trivia #12 still happen in this modern world of many new technology. Due to #17, The next time I see a cockroach, shall make sure not only hit at its' head as this will do no harm for it at least for another 9 days :-D and for #20, Can you experiment it then tell us what's the outcome ....LOL Anyway, thanks for sharing with us these trivia .

Actually I didn't know that today was Trivia Day and yes I most definately will check out your discussion before starting another discussion. It is not good if we are all posting the same things, e.g. what trivia we post is the same as what others are posting. Thanks for reading and responding to this one. :)

can you imagine how long it would take to count a million pound? if the money is one pound note a bank clerk could count a break it would take atleast 8 days for him to work through a million....... Pearls are very pretty, but did you know it can take an oyster seven years to make one. Did you know that you share your birthday with other 9 million people aroud the world.... There are two things that we cannot do at a time eating and swallowing the same time and sneezing with eyes open..
