Should it be the law to wear motorcycle helmets?

I still see a lot of people riding around on a motorcycle without a helmet on. If it is the law to wear a seatbelt, why isn't it the law to wear a helmet?

ya wearing helmets should be made compulsory.motor cyclists life is at risk.if you were a helmet there is 99% sure accident not turning fatal.but motorists main concern is the heat wen wearing a helmet and pain in neck which makes it uncomfortable.so new helmets which are light weight shoul be made available by the govt.

I don't think it is the government's job to make lightweight helmets available. Perhaps a company can start designing and manufacturing some.

It should be a law to wear your helmet, but I dont think that will stop some from riding without it.

No, it probably wouldn't stop them, but it may save one person's life.
