Are humans a social being or social animal???

meaning lying underneath is: humans are social being as regarded, but i want to know what sense the term social can be used in this mordern society.Or like animals we live in herds for mutual benefits.....?????

Humans are considered to be Social Animal. I don't see any difference between being and animal. If you know kindly explain. Next, the 'living for mutual benefit' that's true we live for mutual benefit. If you don't get, you won't give. That's Social. Whereas in animal nature, you won't give even if you get. That's the difference I feel.
