I happen to visit a Honey Festival in Bangalore. There are 100s of uses with honey. In Olden days, women folk use to always keep honey bottle for multipurpose use. For little ones in the cradle, one tea spoon of honey once a week is too good. Pregnant woman take almods dipped in honey, kept overnight and eat next day, will help them to have beautiful children.

You can also make a facial mask out of honey. Just spread it on your face. Leave it on 10-15 minutes then rinse it with lukewarm water. You will notice that your skin feels softer.

i have always found a big bottle of honey, mostly local, crude variety, at my home. my mom has always insisted on having honey and lime water in the morning, which, i never do, not because i doubt its worth but i a just being lazy. now that i have grown up, i also have a bottle of refined, well packaged honey in my closet and guess what, i use it for skin treatment. it hydrates skin in no time!!
going back to my childhood, in summers when i used to visit our country home, my grandma had a bottle of authentic, unrefined home bred honey. i still remember gertting shivers on gazing at the deluge of honeybees flocking on the amazing hives!! my grandma used to layer it on swollen feet and on bruises.
those were the days...
thanx for taking me through the good old days.

It is so nice of you giving me and other mylotians, your experiences with honey and good old days. A friend of mine is a great lover of honeybees and he never had a sting. He puts his hand in beehives directly without gloves. He works in Beekeeping department and his colleague allows the bees to cover his face and part of the body. It is a sad thing, bees collect the honey in honeycomb and we steal it to make honey for eating purpose! Thanks for excellent interesting response.

only recently, i saw one show on television, which showed a man with honey bees all over his face and body!! it felt awful and i couldnot but wonder at the feat. your friend must be one of such few braves, or is he the one!!
yes, when we think about exploiting the habitat and the golden liquid we do feel bad but don't you think ecology balances it out? i am not sure though.
thanx for your comment.

I keep honey at home and put it in my herbal teas; but with the suggestions I got here, I will definitely keep them in mind too.
