Do You Support the War on Terrorism?

Iraq

I am a Marine in the reserves with a wife and three beautiful children. I love them dearly and am very happy. I have a very good job in the civilian world. What I am asking is that with all the hype in the media and the pressure from the world, does anyone believe that we will eventually stamp out terrorism abroad and at home. I can only describe the war in Iraq to be brutal and bloody. I am stationed here in Iraq, while my family tries to make it on the low salary I get from the military and practically has to live on government assistance because I cannot be there to support them. I agree with the war. I want my children to grow up in a safer place than this. I want the hatred of others to stop blinding followers to the point where they have to be violent. I believe that we all have a purpose in life- to be free and live life to the fullest, being true to God, Family, and humanity. War is a bad thing, but it is necessary for those that create it to be held responsible for their actions. We as humans should never allow our fellow humans suffer for money, power, or anything else that has no meaning in life- you can't take this stuff with you when you go! We should, as a world, unite and stand up to those that threaten our very existance. Never retreat, never surrender, never except tyrinny or terrorism for any reason.

Sir, to say that this war is an attack on Islam and the Muslim faith is completely false. I am here and we protect the Mosques and the holy men of this country to no end. In fact, it is an order to protect all Mosques and religious leaders of this country including the ones that have been declared insurgents. Are you implying that the "World" is only in this to stop the spread of Islam? I read the Quran and compared it to the Bible. There is not a lot of difference in the text. They both speak of peace and love for one another not the destruction of a culture or religion or belief. This war is about fear that the terrorist have spread as well as money- which is all war normally works its way into. I'd like to know, what examples can you give to support your theory? I am very interested since I am living in this place of misery that some sadistic men have created in the name of their religion. Islam and the Muslim faith is not responsible for the idiotic acts of extremists and that is what we all believe here!
