well, i prefer windows mainly because i don't have enough experience with unix. in my one class last semester we had a whole section on unix, and it was pretty cool, but i'm used to windows. so i'm gonna have to pick that.

It actually depends on the user. For example some may like to become Cat & Some Lion. It depends & in common the LINUX/UNIX Operating System is the best when you know it's features and it has more security & administrative previlages & Red Hat Linux 9.0 has Mozilla inbuilt which is fast than other browsers. & It has builtin Tool Kit & many Compilers & it's multiprogramming & multi user feature. & without Internet you can have network of computers when you can chat/write to a terminal and share the information easily. NEWBIE Can't Understand UNIX. And in Windows OS the user can easily use it even if he/she is a newbie because of its Graphical User Interface & it's not frequently error prone. When using Unix/Linux platform the user has to be familiar with all type of Unix commands to handle it or atleast basic commands. If There is anything Else Please Post a Comment. Thank You. Have a Good Day.

for me it depends on the requirements of the user. for example if you want a mailserver why choose linux in terms of windows. why? linux if free and if you can see most mail server in the web are running in linux. But you can choose exchange server in windows the problem is the license.. its more expensive to buy windows license than linux...
