No, I don't dye my hair... I was always a dumb blonde, from childhood! lol.
Now, I have platinum blonde hair, which means, it's more silver than gold. Some would say it's white, but I argue, and I don't bother to dye it because the really young souls in this world dye their hair to MY colour! ha ha ha

I always wanted blonde hair, I tried many times to dye it blonde when I was younger, I only managed to go orange. lol
because I am dark my hair goes grey, my mum has blonde hair which has now gone silver in places and it looks lovely.
Thank you for your response. :)

I dye my hair but not the normal color. I have put blonde streals in my hair that I then cover with blue or purple. Which color is completely dependent on what my mood is for the month.:)
Anyone that hears that I dye my hair this color many find it strange. But once you get to know me, you realize that it fits my personality.

LOL I do the same thing...and when I have my braids done I put in fabulous colours as well..so far I've had fushia, electric blue, blood red (all dyes) and I'm doing purple next I think..and for braids I've had lavendar, baby blue, electric green, electric blue, purple and pink...I dye my kids hair too...this weekend we're all doing blueberry black all over then bleaching out chunks and my daughter is getting blood red, my son wants green and I'm doing purple (though I might do blue instead)....

I started highlighting my hair about 5 years ago. I always used to do it professinoally at the salon. It got too expensice so the about 2 years ago I started coloring my own hair at home with just one solid color. I hadnt dyed my hair since last summer and so I had quite a bit of root showing (about 2-3 inches) and I was surprised to see a little gray popping up everywhere!! So to hide the "oldness" I am back to highlighting....I am only 26 and I am just not ready to have gray hair yet :)

When I was in my twenties I also had highlighted hair, I tried a few weeks ago to have highlights and it came out an awful orange colour so I had to get another dark colour to hide it, but when I put on the dye it didn't cover properly but the result was really nice, I somehow ended up with low lights which I like now. I am not sure what to do when they grow out though, it is going to be hard to get my hair the same again. LOL

My husband has not got much hair so he is no good for a model for me to practise on. LOL
I suffered the green hair look as well many years ago when I tried to go blonde, I think that is why I tend to stick to the browns which are nearer my own natural colour. ( I think).
Thank you for your response. :)

I dye my hair. My hair used to be blonde. What was worse though was it had a lot of different shades of blonde, red highlights, but with dark roots. All my life I had dark roots. I was constantly accused of dying my hair and I was tired of it. So I dyed it red. I started getting a lot of compliments and everyone thought it was my natural color. I found I could wear a lot more colors that I couldn't wear when I was blonde. So now I keep it red. Of course it doesn't help that I also started to get grey hair when I was in my 20's. So overall I don't think I want to know what color it would be without it now.

Although I am naturally brown haired, I always wanted to be blonde,(without much success.)like yourself I started to go grey in my 20's, so dyeing my hair has become part of my things I do every month. I like red colours, I usually use a dye with chestnut colourings in it, I think that is what my hair used to be....
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my discussion. :)

Yes I dye my hair and have done now for about the last 20 years it makes me feel good as it makes me look a lot younger than I am and a lot of people I meet they compliment me on my hair colour which makes me feel great. I usually use close colours to my natural hair which is brown.

Only about every 4 weeks for the last 8 years, my hair is naturally blonde but started to darken with my first pregnancy. I kept it blonde and had streaks of white or red depending on how I felt until this summer.
My hairdresser was telling my I'm too old to be blonde and my hair needs to be shorter. Every time she trimmed it another inch or more would disappear and suddenly I needed layers, as it would be easier to cope with. Eventually I got so sick of being told how I should look I dyed it the brightest red I could find and after a couple more bossy visits I told her not to bother coming round any more.
I now have my old hairdresser back who is quite happy to let me do as I want. She stopped doing my hair as she's a friend and she was really very buzy but now she's given in and will let me pay her properly we're both happy, took her 2 years to give in and be paid though.
My hair is still bright red but I'm growing the layers down and intend to have it quite long again.

When I was much younger in the 50s LOL... Seriously as a teen I used to experiment like most other teenagers do with my hair, I use to get it highlighted and the sad thing is when I was a toddler I had beautiful blond hair and then it turned brown, so I was always trying to go blond again. I even did somethind drastic and that was to get my entire hair bleached blond, it looked awful, it was the wrong tint for a start, I never did that again. Now I'm 35 I'm going grey slowly and I've stopped dying my hair!

I remember experimenting with my brothers hair,I tried to give him highlights but when we took off the cap it looked like he had a chessboard patten on his head where the bleach had gathered in clumps. LOL he had to wear a hat for a few weeks (before the days of hair clippers)
Thank you for your response. :)

I don't. I'm happy with my hair color. Most importantly, I'm just happy to have hair considering baldness runs in my family.

I used to dye my hair loads, I'm a musician & used too play in bands & I've had some of the most bizarre hairdo's over the years.
i once turned up to a show with a fluorescent blue quiff, cos the bassist in the band was actually a haird dresser by day & could get hold of these state of the art hair dye's to try out.
It was funny the day after the gigs though, going about day to day life, people seeing my hair & the looks I got :)
