How do I know the birds I buy aren't from the wild?

I'd like to buy some birds, small parakeet or finch types. I'd like to be sure they came from good breeders and not wild caught. Is there a way to look this up?

Hi, usually wild caught birds are not banded. You can find reputable breeders at www.birdsnways.com they have a classified section that is great.
