What should I do I have a 3 year old and we are expecting another in August.Just recently my 3 year old has been acting funny when i leave him somewhere, he keeps asking for me thinking that i went away with the baby and im not coming back.I feel really bad and i try to explain it to him but how much can a 3 year old understand about it all?I really feel bad for him and i just want him to feel like he is part of this all and that he isnt left out in everything.Anybody have any suggestions?

maybe he is trying to get your attention towrds him.Wherever you go you have him with you.try to say about your newborn and how he has to take care of the little baby.

Its not that he is trying to get his attention from me he is with me all the time but i say when i leave him it is either at daycare or my moms because i work a full time job so what your saying isnt it.But thanks for the advice.

Make sure you keep him involved. Have him help with the new babies things.Also you can have him make a choice as well, to show how important his opinion is.Tell him how important his role is and what his role as big brother will be.What ways he can help and how he can play with him.And you mom just be prepared.My nephew was insane. You couldn't look at the baby or take a picture.The pics are hysterical memories.It's the baby and half of Nicholas' head.Now if you ask if we can take the baby home for a day or two, forget it. Vinnie is his brother and you can't have him.LOL
