The Love Aspect of Gladiator the movie

I love the movie, not just because of the action which is in fact violent but I think done very well. What I love most about this movie is the Love aspect of it. The King having loved Maximus like his own son and Maximus to love the king that much too. The love of Maximus to his friend that even after he died, his friend never forgotten him. And most of all the love that Maximus have for his family (wife and daughter) that when he is dying, he smiled and said "Im Home". That moved me having felt there is so much love in this movie despite of the violence. Have you seen that angle too in this movie? Or you just loved the action aspect of it?
