Do you believe in developing reading habits in your kids?

I do strongly believe that reading is one habit that is good and should be developed as early as possible. my 15 month old daughter likes to browse through her board books all by herself but i or my wife read to her at night and she listens to the stories i dont know whether she understands or not but i know she enjoys it. She says 'elmo' whenever she spots him in one of her storybooks. what about your kids? do they love reading?
